Kristen_Monochrome

Kristen Anson - Vocals

Kristen originally hailed from Augusta, GA, and later became an Aiken native. Since the age of two she has been standing on coffee tables at home singing her heart out, and her first real stage appearance was at the age of nine when she sang Patsy Cline to her inaugural crowd. She started her music career under the direction of the late Melvin Blakey at the age of fifteen and has had a passion for singing and writing ever since. “Growing up, we didn’t have a lot of money, so I never had the opportunity to learn an instrument. I learned to use my voice to express my love for music and pursued further training through school programs and with my producer Melvin.”

Tom Heath - Vocals

Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tom moved to the Aiken-Augusta area after college.  In the mid 90s he was lead vocalist in a band called Mental Block who were active in the Augusta area for a couple of years, and he is very happy to have come out of retirement to join Whiskey Business!

Jason Johnston - Guitar & Vocals

Jason’s been playing intros to songs on the guitar since 1992. In 2020, he decided it was finally time to learn a song start to finish. He joined Whiskey Business so he could write off his gear purchases on his taxes. In his spare time, Jason likes repairing vintage electronics and building guitars. However, his real passion lies in volunteering for his kids’ swim teams with his wife.

Mike Gerard - Percussion

Dave Sherburne - Sax & Keys

Julian Lockwood - Bass

Julian is originally from London, England, spent some years in Washington DC, and then chose to relocate to Aiken in 2010. After actively participating in Community Theater for many years, he started looking for a new artistic outlet here in South Carolina, and discovered the bass guitar. Fast-forward a few years (and a few hundred lessons) and he formed The Upshot band in 2016, which played gigs in the CSRA area for two years. Hoping to do it all over again, he started Whiskey Business and enjoys playing music with his friends and fellow musicians.
